2nd generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors

The second generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors offer enhanced security and include many interesting features that improve performance and efficiency in multiple types of workloads. Intel® Deep Learning Boost technology, Intel® Optane™ DC persistent memory, Intel® QuickAssist Technology and Intel® Resource Director Technology are some of the main features included in this generation of processors.

Intel® Deep Learning Boost technology

The second generation of Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors offers enhanced flexibility for running complex Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads. It does so through Intel® Deep Learning Boost advanced technology, commonly known as Intel® DL Boost. DL Boost embedded technologies are designed to accelerate Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

Intel® Optane™ persistent memory

The innovative technology of Intel® Optane™ persistent memory, sometimes abbreviated as PMem, provides enhanced density, performance and security. It maximizes VM densities, expands memory capacity, includes low latency access to persistent data and increases memory security thanks to automatic encryption at hardware level.

Intel® QuickAssist Technology

Intel® QuickAssist Technology, abbreviated as Intel® QAT, optimizes performance and efficiency, maximizes CPU utilization and enables the acceleration of compute-intensive operations. This technology improves compression performance and security, both for data at rest and in-transit, in big data, storage, networking and cloud applications.

Intel® Resource Director Technology

Intel® Resource Director Technology provides further visibility and control over how applications use shared resources, and increases performance and Quality of Service. It includes features such as Code and Data Prioritization (CDP), Memory Bandwidth Monitoring (MBM), Memory Bandwidth Allocation (MBA), Cache Monitoring Technology (CMT) and Cache Allocation Technology (CAT).
